Features: This audio record component lets you add audio recording capability to your application. You would be able to record directly into the format of your choice. The formats supported include mp3, wav, wma, ogg, au, aiff and vox etc. The conversion is direct and no intermediate files are created. The quality of the audio output is settable through encoding parameters. Any sound source playable through your computer`s sound card such as online streaming audio, radio, audio players (i.e. Media Player, WinAmp, Real Player etc), midi, microphone, CD, Tapes & LPs etc. Active Audio Record supports standard sound cards and can support more than one of them.

Silence detection during recording is available and it can optimize the file size or for cutting up a single file into more than one. For example a complete cassette can be recorded into one and then cut up to individual tracks through the silent passages. Volume controls vor channels as well as the mixer output are available. It supports ID3 tagging of mp3 and WMA tagging, OGG and FLAC tags. Integration code examples for VB, VBScript, C#, Perl, JScript, VB.Net, Delphi, C++ Builder are provided. It is compatible with Windows 98 and later. It is .NET ready and is Vista compatible. 64 bit Windows version is also supported.

This is a program component and does not include a UI, or useful documentation on how to use it even in a command line fashion since it is designed to be called from one of many scripting languages.
